I’m definitely a fan of the “survival” genre. Frozen was a good indie survival movie that I
saw last year. It was much more intense
than I had anticipated.

A couple of recent survival movies set in the ocean that I
liked were The Reef & Open Water.
There’s another great Australian movie called Black Water where a few
people get stranded on a crocodile-infested river, which is supposedly based on
a true story.

Funny you mention Frozen. I was scrolling through the stuff Netflix streaming and I came across the cover for it. I thought it looked cool and sounded interesting. I added it, but haven’t watched it yet. This will give me more incentive to check it out. For those of you with Netflix here is that link: http://www2.netflix.com/Movie/Frozen/70129461

Open Water is a great suggestion too. They made a sequel to it which I refuse to watch, but the first one was a great film…and based on a true story too. I haven’t seen the Reef or Black Water but I’ll look into them – you’ve raised my curiosity.

Cool! If you watch Frozen, The Reef, or Black Water I would be curious to hear your thoughts. I really liked all 3 of those.

Come to think of it, I believe The Reef is based on true events also.

Glad to see Notorious getting a shout out. Probably my favorite Hitchcock movie. Grant and Bergman are extraordinary in it!
