For the record The First Grader is set in Kenya and is
inspired by the true story of Kimani N’gan’ga Maruge. You can find more

I don’t watch many horror movies anymore, but I am intrigued by “The Woman in Black”. It is based on a novel that was made into a British TV movie back in 1989 or so. From what I have read online, that TV movie is somewhat of a cult classic among horror fans who have been fortunate to see the hard-to-find film, although I think it is posted on Youtube in segments. “The Woman in Black” is also a long-running stage play in England.

If anything that worries me more…sounds like another Hollywood horror remake, something that they generally aren’t too successful at doing.

Yeah, I see your point, although is it really a remake if it’s never been a theatrical movie?

I think so. If it is based on an existing property and it is not a sequel/prequel than I think it is a remake.

There are other projects that have done the same thing. Traffic did it successfully. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy did it, but less successfully. I don’t feel like Hollywood is into fleshing out ideas like project that was originally a mini-series usually require.
